A lot of people try to earn their primary or secondary income with affiliate marketing but the unfortunate truth is that most of them fail either making no sales or very few. In days gone by you could just drive traffic to the vendor’s sales page by using Google Adwords and at times this could be pretty successful and also it could be a total failure. The number of sales obviously depended on how well the sales page converted and the number of visitors that you sent but once you had tested a number of affiliate offers and found the winners it wasn’t that difficult to scale up and make a lot of money. Things have changed now and Google and the others that offer pay per click advertising expect you to have a landing page with some quality content on it. This is by no means the end of the world.
It is important to create a landing page of quality which has persuasive content on it that will make your reader want to click on your link to the vendor sales page and but the product you are promoting. This is known as pre selling and it is not as difficult as people think. A method that has been taught for some time now is to actually obtain the product you are marketing (you can just buy it or request that the seller give you a copy) and then write the page content around your actual findings. Also give your content a personal touch. Share your name and put up a picture of yourself on the page. Explain that you was finding it so difficult to lose weight or make an income or fix whatever problem the product addresses before you obtained the product and that is the reason that you want to tell everybody about how good it is.
With every product there is going to be something that you don’t like or agree with. This is worth highlighting in your copy as long as it is not so bad that it would stop people buying it. People are not stupid and they know that the product that is perfect does not exist so if all you do on the page is tell them how great it is they will consider this suspicious. Always major on the benefits of the product for them and relate this to how you have personally benefited from using it as much as you can as this will all help them to click through to the sales page and buy the product.
