Ninja Super Affiliate Goal Monitoring Exposed!
Tracking clicks and goals as an Affiliate Marketer can be an extremely hard task, yet it is one that all of us need to practice more than ever. What I am going to teach you today is how to do just that, however it is worth noting that this is a complex system. That said, this is a system that can be used time and time again if you simply copy wordpress installations from one domain to another.
So, why is it so hard to track affiliate links? Simple. Because unlike pages that we have installed on our own hosting account, when we promote a product, the pages that we are promoting are completely out of our control. By this, I mean that we simply can not install tracking on these pages. Obviously this is a problem, as you are going to want to be able to be able to utilize some kind of tracking, especially if you plan on improving your conversions down the track.
In order to track Click Through Rate’s on a WordPress blog for affiliate links, all that you will really need to do is crease a medium in which you can track, that is located within your own blog or website. In this instance, this would be the use of a page redirect. To do this however, the first step would be to use a redirect plugin. There are many available both free and commercially, each with different functionality. Using this plugin, you will need to create a custom page in WordPress that redirects through to your affiliate links.
So, why are we creating page redirects? When someone clicks on a link (which in this case will be your redirect page), you will then be able to track that page within your Google Analytics account, and accurately measure the number of people that are clicking on that link. You can also manually calculate your conversion metrics using this data, or if you are an advanced user, you can also set up goals and funnels within your Analytics account – a job that has otherwise been quite difficult and complex for Affiliate Marketers.
Are you trying to get more people clicking through from a specific page to another? You can easily set up funnels in Google Analytics, track the behavior of your visitors, then try a new method, to attract clicks. This may be button color, a link type, or anything else that may boost the click through rate for a link.
All that is left to do at this point is to simply track your visitors, and see what you can improve on. You have all the tools at your disposal to be able to continuously measure and grow your conversion rate. As for what a good conversion rate would be, I would suggest that a figure above the 5 – 10% mark is a good figure to aim for. This will of course vary between niches.
One thing is for sure. Once you have installed a tracking system such as what I have taught you today, and created a copy wordpress installation that you can have ready at any time, this is something that you can not miss out on. Why? Because without tracking, there is no improvement.
